The plaintiff, Jeanne Rivers, appeals from the trial court’s rendering of summary judgment in favor of the defendant city of New Britain.1 The determinative issue on appeal is whether the court improperly granted the defendant’s motion for summary judgment by concluding that it had no duty to keep a sidewalk abutting state property reasonably safe for public travel because it had adopted, by ordinance, the provisions of General Statutes § 7-163a.2 We conclude *494that the court was correct in its determination and properly granted the motion.
