OPINION

BISSETT, Justice.

This is an appeal by the defendant, Hanover Modular Homes of Taft, Inc., from a default judgment entered against it by a District Court of Nueces County, Texas. We reverse and remand.

On January 5, 1971, Corpus Christi Bank and Trust, as plaintiff, filed suit against Hanover Modular Homes of Taft, Inc., as defendant, alleging that plaintiff was the owner and holder of a promissory note executed by the defendant payable to its order, and that the note was past due and unpaid.
