{¶ 1} This is an original action for a writ of mandamus to compel respondent, Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, to appoint Mary M. Wipert to the Lawrence County Board of Elections as recommended by relator, Lawrence County Repub*93lican Party Executive Committee. Because the secretary of state did not abuse her discretion in rejecting the committee’s recommendation, we deny the writ.
