On July 9, 1887, G. H. Hard purchased from the state, at public auction, certain school land in Pueblo County, consisting of five acres, more or less, within certain defined boundaries, for $7,950. A certificate of purchase was issued, entitling the purchaser to a patent for the land upon payment of a. balance of the purchase money with interest. The payment was made, and on February 21, 1899, a patent for the land was issued by the state. The total amount of purchase money and interest paid by the purehaser was $8,673.45.
