This case involves a family farming partnership, A Bertolla Sons ("ABS"), which was formed in Baldwin County, in the early 1900's. The partnership assets consist of two farms totalling 1,800 acres; 920 additional acres of timberland; and a portfolio of securities. The fair market value of the partnership assets at the time of trial was estimated as $23-$25 million. In 1996, partner Mary Bertolla Bill and her son, partner Michael Charles Bill, filed this suit against her nephew, partner Andrew A. Bertolla (Andy) and the partnership, for dissolution.
