The plaintiff in this action is a medical marketing researcher who began investing money in the stock market in 1979 or 1980. Defendant Thomson McKinnon Securities, Inc. (“Thomson”) is a securities firm and broker-dealer registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and is a member of the New York and American Stock Exchanges, the National Association of Securities Dealers (“NASD”) and other broker-dealer organizations. Plaintiff had maintained a margin account 1 with the Nanuet, New York office of Thomson from August 1980 until February 1981…
