Following his discharge from employment, Thomas Hopper brought suit against Hallmark Cards, Inc. (Hallmark) for age and handicap discrimination and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Before trial, the district court 1 granted Hallmark’s motion for summary judgment on the intentional infliction of emotional distress claim.
