This suit was brought by appellee against appellant in the circuit court of Hempstead County to recover $275, las beneficiary, on a life insurance policy alleged to have been issued to his brother, William Custer, by the North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company, on August 31, 1925, and on January 1, 1927, reinsured by said North Carolina Company with appellant, a mutual insurance corporation.
