The respondent, who is plaintiff in this action and will be so styled in this opinion, alleges in its complaint that it filed its income tax returns to the South Carolina Tax Commission, which is defendant in this action and shall be so called herein, for the years 1926, 1927, 1928, 1929, and 1930, respectively, and paid the- income taxes in accordance with the said returns, which it avers were the correct amounts of taxes for which it was liable: That in 1931 the defendant made adjustments of plaintiff’s returns and payments of…
