*397On February 9, 1918, plaintiff commenced, in tbe district court of Salt Lake county, five separate suits against tbe defendants, Sterling Fire Insurance Company, Alliance Insurance Company, Rhode Island Insurance Company, Citizens’. Insurance Company, and tbe Northern Assurance Company, as insurers, to recover loss and damage occasioned by fire to a stock of merchandise and store fixtures.
