Matthew Hawks filed suit against his former employer, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank and System & Service Tech., Inc. (collectively, “defendants”), in Missouri state court under, inter alia, the Missouri Human Rights Act (MHRA). Hawks alleged that defendants discriminated against him on the basis of gender (“Count I”) and created a hostile work environment (“Count II”). 1 Defendants removed the action to federal district court pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §§ 1441 and 1446.
