SHEA, Justice.

On February 20, 1986, Peter Badessa (defendant) was convicted after trial in Superior Court of larceny of property with a value in excess of $500 in violation of G.L. 1956 (1981 Reenactment) § 11-41-1. He was sentenced to ten years imprisonment, six to serve, four years suspended, and four years probation under § 11-41-5. On appeal he alleges that he was denied the opportunity for a full and fair hearing, outside the presence of the jury, on his motion to suppress out-of-court and in-court identifications of him by two witnesses.
