This is an appeal from a decree of the Chancery Court of Yazoo county, overruling a demurrer to a bill filed by the appellees.
The bill states in substance that on the 28th March, 1839, Bradford Davis, the father of the complainants, owned and possessed in Yazoo county a large quantity of land on which he resided, sixty-six slaves, with horses, mules, and other stock, and farming utensils; that prior to that time, Davis had purchased of one Martin Anding, the father of one of the defendants, and the husband of the other, certain lands, slaves, and other property, for which he was indebted to…
