In urging us to reverse his conviction for physically abusing his wife, Christina (Christina), in violation of Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) § 709-906(1) (1985), 1 Defendant-Appellant James Francis Dunn (Defendant) asserts that his trial counsel was ineffective for failing to (1) move to dismiss the case on speedy trial grounds; (2) challenge the legality of his arrest; (3) object to hearsay testimony; and (4) demand a hearing on the identity of an anonymous caller who reported the domestic incident to the police.
