PELPHREY, Chief Justice.

This is a condemnation suit instituted in the name of the state of Texas, acting by and through the commissioners’ court of El Paso county, Tex. Mrs. Blair, a widow, was the owner in fee simple, subject to certain liens, of-1.212 acres of land adjacent to state highway No. 1 between the town of Ysleta, Tex., and El Paso, Tex. For the purpose of widening said state highway No. 1, a strip of land 11.5 feet wide was needed along the entire length of Mrs. Blair’s property, or a distance of 181 feet.
