OPINION
STAGG, District Judge.
On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court rendered its landmark decisions on abortion. Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113, 93 S.Ct. 705, 35 L.Ed.2d 147 (1973) and Doe v. Bolton, 410 U.S. 179, 93 S.Ct. 739, 35 L.Ed.2d 201 (1973). In Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court held that under the due process clause a woman’s right to choose an abortion is a protected liberty, indeed a fundamental right, so important that a governmental body cannot prohibit it entirely or burden it significantly during the first trimester of pregnancy.
