REINHARDT, Circuit Judge:

Timothy Wakefield appeals the district court’s dismissal of his § 1983 action against John Doe, a correctional officer at San Quentin Prison. Wakefield alleges that Doe violated his Eighth Amendment rights by refusing to provide him with prescription psychotropic medication upon his release from prison. He asserts that Doe exhibited deliberate indifference to his serious medical needs. Because we find that Wakefield has stated a cause of action upon which relief might be granted, we reverse the district court’s dismissal of Wakefield’s action against Doe, and remand…
