After a jury trial in a New Hampshire superior court, Robert Hurlburt was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm in violation of state law, and sentenced to an extended term of 7)6 to 15 years by the trial judge (Nadeau, J.). The New Hampshire Supreme Court reversed his conviction because of an erroneous evidentiary ruling. See State v. Hurlburt, 132 N.H. 674, 569 A.2d 1306, 1306-07 (1990).
