Mandamus. The petitioner, a resident property owner and taxpayer in the county of Los Angeles, filed his petition in the superior court against the sheriff of Los Angeles County for a writ of mandamus to compel the respondent to pay into the county treasury all fees collected by him as such sheriff between the second day of June, 1913, and the thirty-first day of October, 1913, for the performance of official duties pertaining to that office.
