Appellant Alfredo Bautista Gama (Gama) appeals the denial of his motion to suppress evidence of illegal drugs found in his car after a search by Elko County, Nevada, law enforcement officers. Gama contends that the drug evidence is the tainted fruit of a pretextual traffic stop and must, therefore, be excluded from his trial on drug possession changes. Alternatively, Gama contends that the drugs must be suppressed because the seizure and search exceeded the scope of a traffic stop.
