This is a suit for infringement of U. S. Patent No. 1,422,614 issued on July 11, 1922, to the plaintiff for an invention of Frederick Handley Page. The patent expired before the case was finally submitted for decision.

The patent relates to improvements in means for balancing and regulating the lift of aircraft. The specification states: “In order to vary the relative lift of the wings on the port and starboard sides of an aeroplane flying machine to maintain the lateral stability of the said machine about the axis of flight, or to cause the lift of both wings on opposite…
