Respondent was convicted of violating Act No. 144, Pub. Acts 1907, which act, with its title, is set out in the margin of this opinion.1 His wife was *559the complaining witness. Complaint was made January 8, 1908, and the alleged date of- the desertion is December 27, 1907.
