George Lewis was formerly a soldier in the United States army, serving several years. On October 3, 1919, he was discharged from service on account of his mental condition. He is at present confined in one of the Tennessee Hospitals for the Insane, and his condition is regarded as incurable. Prior to his discharge from the army he had allotted to his mother, Lula Lewis, $15 per month of his pay of $30 per month. This sum was paid to the mother each month by the government authorities.
