Appellee instituted this action against appellant as receiver of the St. Louis, Iron Mountain& Southern Railway Company to recover the amount of wages due him as an employee of appellant, and also the statutory penalty provided for failure to pay the wages .of a discharged employee. The amount of wages sued for is the sum of $4.20, for two days work.
Appellee was employed by the receiver to work at Russellville, Arkansas, his duties being to clean the clinkers out of engines while they were stopped at that station. He worked during the month of November, 1916, until the 17th day of that month,…
