Opinion by Justice Moseley *102In Hunt County, Texas, George Briscoe was charged with (1) theft of property worth more than $1,500, but less than $20,000, (2) giving a false statement to obtain credit of more than $1,500, but less than $20,000, and (3) theft of property worth more than $20,000, but less than $100,000. After a jury trial, Briscoe was found guilty of all three charges. On the charge of theft, he was sentenced to 180 days in state jail.
