delivered the opinion of the Court.
A military judge sitting as a special court-martial convicted appellant, pursuant to his pleas, of an unauthorized absence commencing on September 19, 1997, and terminated by apprehension on September 28,1998; and wrongful use of marijuana, in violation of Articles 86 and 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 886 and 912a, respectively. The adjudged and approved sentence provides for a bad-conduct discharge, confinement for 60 days, and forfeiture of $600.00 pay per month for 3 months. The Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed the…
