Derrick Sayles was convicted of second degree murder. The Court of Criminal Appeals reversed the conviction and remanded the cause for a new trial on the ground that the trial court had erred in refusing to allow Sayles’s counsel to probe the circumstances surrounding the bond reduction and the charge reduction accorded to the State’s principal witness immediately after his testimony.
