Plaintiff-appellant Walter Hansen brought this action to recover damages arising from injuries sustained when he fell from a loading dock. He sued both the general contractor who built the dock, Ruby Construction Company (hereinafter Ruby), and the architect, A. M. Kinney & Associates, Inc. (hereinafter Kinney).
