CAVANAUGH, J.:

¶ 1 The Commonwealth appeals from the trial court’s order of suppression. 1 We affirm.

¶ 2 We must first determine whether the issues raised by the Commonwealth are properly before us. On January 3, 2000, the court directed the Commonwealth to file a statement of matters complained of on appeal within fourteen days pursuant to Pa.R.A.P.1925(b). The Commonwealth’s statement; filed on January 19, 2000, appears to be untimely and the trial court did not file a Rule 1925(a) Opinion in this matter. Under Commonwealth v.
