The Prosecuting Attorney of Jackson County, on December 8, 1919, filed an information in the criminal court of that county, charging the defendant with the crime of murder in the first degree. It is alleged that on October 28, 1919, the defendant shot one Fred Reed and that Reed died as a result thereof on November 6th following,. The defendant was formally arraigned and entéred a plea of not guilty on the day the information was filed. The cause was tried at the February term, 1920.
