The defendant was convicted, after a trial to a jury, of possession of narcotics with intent to sell in violation of General Statutes § 21a-278 (b),1 possession of drug paraphernalia in violation of General Statutes § 21a-267 (a),2 and having a weapon in a motor *558vehicle in violation of General Statutes § 29-38. 3 The defendant appeals from the judgment of conviction.4
