This is a petition to enforce a mechanic’s lien. We will assume in favor of the petitioner that the work and materials were used in the erection of a building, within the meaning of K. L. c. 197, § 1. They were furnished under an entire contract to construct and install in the respondent’s buildings a fire extinguishing system of a specified kind for a stated price. The petitioner fully performed its contract, but about ten days before it was completed, while the work was going on, it filed in the registry of deeds the statement relied on in this case, claiming a lien for the contract price…
