On September 11 and 12, 2012, a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya was attacked, resulting in' the deaths of four Americans, including United States Ambassador to Libya J. Christopher Stevens. In an eighteen-count superseding indictment, a grand jury charged Defendant Ahmed Salim Faraj Abu' Khatallah with orchestrating and participating in the attack.
