MILLER, Associate Justice.

Appellant was retired from the Foreign Service of the United States on August 31, 1932, on account of permanent disability. Thereupon, he became entitled to receive a retirement annuity amounting to $1623.12 per annum, 2 which was paid to him from the date of retirement until September 1, 1936.
