Plaintiff, as administratrix, instituted this suit to recover damages for the death of her husband arising* out of an automobile accident which occurred October 14, 1936, and which is alleged to have been caused by the negligence of defendants in the operation of a truck. The case was submitted to the jury, who returned a verdict for plaintiff in the amount of $1,000. Plaintiff then moved for a new trial on the grounds that the verdict rendered was contrary to the great weight of the evidence; that it was the result of a compromise; and shockingly inadequate.
