Geoffrey and Donna Mathis were each convicted of one count of murder in the first degree, AS 11.41.100(a); one count of kidnapping, AS 11.41.300(a); one count of robbery in the first degree, AS 11.41.-500(a)(1); one count of murder in the second degree, AS 11.41.110(a)(3); and two counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third degree, AS 11.71.-030(a)(1). Judge Jay Hodges sentenced the Mathises to ninety-nine years each for both the first-degree murder convictions and the kidnapping convictions, and to four years each for each count of the misconduct…
