INTRODUCTION

This is a direct appeal from the conviction of J.L.S., (Defendant) for one count of statutory sodomy in the second degree. The pivotal issue in this case is whether, for the purpose of cross-examining the prosecutrix in a sex offense trial, a defendant may introduce evidence that the pros-ecutrix and a non-testifying relative of hers made unsubstantiated allegations that the defendant had violated the terms of his pre-trial release.
