The South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission found Allie James (“James”) was totally and permanently disabled from a work accident and that she was entitled to a lump sum award of benefits. The Commission denied James’s request to include language in the order prorating the lump sum award over her life expectancy after her employer and its carrier (“Respondents”) objected.
