This is the first appeal which has come to this court in a proceeding to wind up a dissolved corporation that was.originally organized under chapter 175 of the Laws of 1883, as amended in 1887.
The companies so organized are neither stock nor exactly mutual insurance companies. While partaking generally of the features of a mutual company, they could not be- exactly described as such in all respects. Oo-operative or assessment companies they are designated in the statute, and at any rate the rights of the members, when the company has been dissolved, have never up to this time been the subject…
