Defendant-appellant Pedro Infante Ruiz was indicted in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico for having knowingly received while a fugitive from justice a firearm transported in interstate commerce. 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(g)(2) and 924(a). After the district court denied a motion in limine to suppress evidence, In-fante entered a plea of guilty, with his plea being conditioned on the outcome of an appeal of the court’s evidentiary ruling.
