When the City of Minot, North Dakota refused to allow Red River Service Corporation (Red River), an Oklahoma waste transport business, to dispose of solid waste from the Minot Air Force Base (MAFB) in the city’s landfill, Red River filed suit against the city in the District Court for the District of North Dakota seeking damages, injunctive relief, and attorney’s fees.
