In June, 1916, D. C. Corbett was appointed administrator of his wife’s estate, which included a certain tract of *277land, of which Mrs. Corbett had been in possession for many years under a recorded deed. The land was appraised with the other property of the estate; and in August, 1916, the administrator filed an application to sell it for the purpose of paying the debts of the estate and making distribution to the heirs at law.
