On October 1, 2007, plaintiff Rick Roberson (“Roberson”) filed this action in Wake County Superior Court against his former employer, defendant City of Goldsboro, North Carolina (“the City”). Roberson, an African-American male, alleges that the City discriminated against him based on his race and age in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (“Title VII”), 42 U.S.C. § 1981, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (“ADEA”).
