On the 24th day of September, 1923, appellants, Mrs. Zelma Adams and husband, B. A. Adams, by proper petition, applied for and obtained the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus to recover from appellees, Reno Gillis and wife, Mrs. Reno Gillis, the custody of a girl 3 years of age, called Shirley Francis Gillis, claimed by appellants to be the natural child of Mrs. Zelma Adams by her former husband, one Bob Hays.
