Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Chenango County (Dowd, J.), rendered September 24, 1993, convicting defendant upon his plea of guilty of the crimes of manslaughter in the first degree and assault in the first degree.

Defendant was indicted on charges of murder in the second degree, attempted murder in the second degree, manslaughter in the first degree, assault in the first degree and assault in the second degree arising from the shooting of his estranged wife and her boyfriend.
