Mr. JusTice Carter

delivered the opinion of the court:

An information was filed by one Lena Martin in the municipal court of Chicago against the plaintiff in error, Thomas C. Braun, charging him with willfully inducing, persuading and encouraging her to leave her home in St. Louis, Missouri, and come to Chicago to be an inmate of a house of ill-fame for the purpose of prostitution. On September 18, 1909, plaintiff in error was found guilty of “pandering,” as charged in said information, and sentenced by said court to six months’ imprisonment in the House of Correction and to pay a fine of $300.…
