The petition in the present case sought recovery of $11,662.61 on behalf of the plaintiff and against the defendant by reason of the following facts:

“3. Petitioner is engaged as a sole proprietorship in a furniture store selling items of household furniture, appliances, radios, and televisions for cash and credit.
