About the first day of August, 1917, Louis Chonoski and Elizabeth, his wife (who owned the premises by the entireties), hereafter called the owners or defendants, entered into a written contract with the Modem Construction Company, a corporation, whereby the latter agreed to furnish the labor and material and construct a residence on a lot at the corner of 14th street and Nicolet avenue, in the city of Detroit, for the sum of $9,650.
