The plaintiff, Marjorie E. Crump, widow of Dr. Spencer M. Crump, secured a judgment of $10,000, besides interest and costs, on a policy of insurance obtained on behalf of Dr. Crump as a practicing dentist and a member of the Southern California State Dental Association and written by Northwestern National Life Insurance Company (hereinafter referred to as Northwestern).
