Appellee, cross-appellant, Manuel Shpritz, (hereinafter “Shpritz”) sued appellants and cross-appellees, First National Bank of Maryland and Gilbert South, individually and in their capacities as personal representatives of the Estate of Billy F. Rankin, (hereinafter “the Personal Representatives” or “appellants”) in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. The suit alleged breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and conversion and sought compensatory and punitive damages.
